Review the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) website at www.fppc.ca.gov
File an FPPC Form 501 with the City Clerk’s Office before receiving contributions or spending any of your own funds
Open a bank account if you plan to spend or receive more than $2,000 (All monies, including the candidate’s own funds, must be deposited into the campaign account before expenditure)
File an FPPC Form 410 with the California Secretary of State’s office within 10 days of spending/receiving the $2,000 limit. File a copy with the City Clerk’s Office.
You can file a Candidate Intention Statement for the November 5, 2024 election at any time with the City Clerk's Office. Office hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to frequent meetings both on and off-site, we suggest making an appointment with the Deputy City Clerk by emailing cityclerks@banningca.gov.
