Interested in Running? Here’s where to start.
- Review the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) website at www.fppc.ca.gov
- File a FPPC Form 501 with the City Clerk’s Office before receiving contributions or spending any of your own funds
- Open a bank account (All monies, including the candidate’s own funds, must be deposited into the campaign account before expenditure)
- If you plan to spend or receive more than $2,000, file an FPPC Form 410 with the California Secretary of State’s office within 10 days of spending/receiving the $2,000 limit. File a copy with the City Clerk’s Office.
