Ring of Honor Program
The "Ring of Honor" is located in Carpenter Hamilton Park, just west of City Hall. The circular structure in the park contains eleven pillars. Both sides of each pillar are reserved for honored citizens with the placement of a bronze plaque containing a bas-relief picture of his/her bust, name and other information relating to his/her service to the community. ·
The purpose of the Banning "Ring of Honor" program is to honor very special citizens who, through their efforts over a significant period of time, have enhanced the community. The program provided a lasting monument to those persons qualifying for such s special honor.
The "Ring of Honor" expresses the appreciation of the community for the service and generosity of those individuals honored. Due to the special significance of the award and the established criteria, it will take a considerable number of years to complete the "Ring of Honor". This program also serves to raise individual and collective pride in the community.
